WRFN New Lagoon and Septic Bed Assessment/Replacement Program

The overall objective of this project is to design and support construction of a cost-effective new lagoon for the Whitefish River First Nation that meets all regulatory requirements. This includes the detailed design of all system components, including closure of the existing septage pit.

Project Scope:

  • Removal of the existing 150 mm ductile iron watermain.
  • Removal of deficient septic bed/field beds.
  • Decommission existing septage pit (Cap pit).
  • Installation of new 150mm PVC watermain inside the road ROW.
  • Installation of new septic bed/field beds.
  • Regrade ditching systems along Red Eagle Road, Shawanosowe Road, Rainbow Valley Road, Apple Valley Road and Bay of Islands Road.


Latest update

June 15, 2023 - Infrastructure Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
