Port Elgin Maintenance Dredging 2021

The Town of Saugeen Shores with support from Fisheries and Oceans Canada, plans to undertake a maintenance dredging project at Port Elgin Small Craft Harbour located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron in Port Elgin, Town of Saugeen Shores, County of Bruce.

The purpose of the proposed dredging is to remove silt accumulation and beach stone and rock that has accumulated around the existing docks from high water wave action over the breakwater and restore harbour depth. This will be achieved by completing spot dredging from the north breakwater and/or from a barge between October 15th and November 30th, 2021. All work will be completed during daytime hours.
