Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail

The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail is located in Splatsin unceded territory of the Secwépemc Nation. Splatsin Kukpi7 (Chief) and the Council of the Splatsin are working together with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Regional District of North Okanagan and municipal leaders to develop the entire 50 km abandoned Sicamous-to-Armstrong rail corridor in South Central British Columbia, as a continuous non-motorized multi-use path for walking & cycling. Purpose: to construct the km 0.0 – 42.6 section of the Rail Trail activating 42.6 kms of active transportation and recreational greenway for walking and bicycling within Splatsin the Secwépemc territory.


Latest update

April 10, 2024 – Infrastructure Canada has determined that it no longer has obligations to assess the project under section 82 of the Impact Assessment Act. As such, the assessment has been terminated.
