Construct New Sprung Shelter Building at CFB Esquimalt Dockyard

The Project involves the procurement and construction of a sprung type shelter building with approximate overall dimensions of 30.5m by 61m by 12m (height at peak). The building is planned to be located on an existing paved parking lot in Dockyard, at the former site of DY11 and DY29. The building foundation will be made of pre-cast concrete lock blocks placed on the paved surface, with the building structure anchored to the foundation. The building will be a tensioned fabric covering, supported on arched metal trusses. The building will be serviced with overhead electrical and communications. The building will have lighting, heating, ventilation and fire protection systems. The only required excavation and backfill work is for the water service line that will supply the fire sprinkler system. Once constructed, the building will be used for general warehousing and ship storage. There will be no storage of hazardous materials.
