Fraser Grain Terminal - Grain Export Facility Amendment (Utilities)

Fraser Grain Terminal Ltd (the Applicant) is proposing to undertake utility works related to the Fraser Grain Terminal Project that were not originally included in the approved scope of works. The proposed amended works are as follows:

  • Existing Drainage Ditch Extension along south side of Robson Road - Remove the existing headwall, infill a portion of the existing drainage ditch, install a new manhole and install a new length of 300millimetre reinforced concrete pipe storm line, extending the existing line by 31metres to the north.
  • Extend the existing steel casing of the Metro Vancouver 200millimetre sanitary Forcemain on south side of Robson Road by approx. 10metre by excavating trench to a depth of approx. 2metre, installing 4.16metre length of pre-fabricated split casing pipe, backfilling trench with imported fill and compaction of backfill
  • Relocation and rerouting of approx. 80metre of Fortis Gas 168millimetre Main Line by excavating to a depth of between approx. 1.5metre and 2metre and installing 40metre of new gas main line with 324millimetre steel casing pipe under rail crossing and 40metre of new 168millimetre gas main line pipe along Robson Road. Cap and abandon 60metre of existing 168millimetre Fortis Gas main line. 
  • Abandon and leave in situ a portion of the existing Metro Vancouver 610millimetre Sanitary Line (approx. 83metre in length) running under the new rail crossing and along the south side of Robson Road. Work will involve infilling and capping 83metre of the existing pipe.

The public comment period on the project is closed. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
