Maintenance dredging - 10619 Timberland Road

Mainland Construction Materials proposes to remove accumulated sediments from the water lot area adjacent to 10619 Timberland Road, Surrey, to restore design depths for the safe moorage of barges and associated vessels during all tidal conditions. The applicant is seeking a multi-year permit to dredge periodically within the fish least risk window for the Fraser River. Total dredge area is approximately 2,250 square metres. Total dredge and disposal volume would be approximately 4,000 cubic metres per year. The dredge cut depth would be approximately -5 metres chart datum, consistent with previous dredging. The last maintenance dredge took place in 2019.

Maintenance dredging works would be conducted from the water. A clamshell dredge situated on a marine spud derrick would be used. Dredged materials will be loaded onto a barge for transport and disposal at an approved disposal at sea site, or to a suitable upland location for reuse or disposal as applicable.
