New Dock Installation 135 Turtlehead Road

The proposed Project is for an installation of a new recreational dock at 135 Turtlehead Road, Belcarra.

The proposed dock includes the following features:

  • Approximately 20.7 metre long (1.2 metre wide) aluminum pier section with perforated decking.
  • Approximately 13.2 metre long (1.2 metre wide) aluminum counterbalance ramp
  • Pier and ramp connected and supported by one 760 mm diameter precast column on shore
  • Approximately 30 square metre float composed of CCA treated Douglas Fir, which will be towed into place and secured by precast concrete blocks and galvanized chain

The Project would consist of constructing the precast concrete column on shore and positioning and welding the prefabricated pier and ramp on top of it using a crane-barge. The counterbalance ramp that would connect to wooden and composite float would raise and lower with the tide. The Project will not require any pile driving.

Should the Project Permit be approved, construction would take approximately two weeks to complete. The proposed work will be conducted during regular construction hours.
