SaskPower Trenching at Anglin Lake Dam

SaskPower is proposing to replace one wood pole and install one take-off, two ground grids, one padmount transformer with a pad, and approximately 130 metres (m) of underground cable within Prince Albert National Park (the Project). The Project is required to provide underground power service for a new pad-mount transformer to be installed near Anglin Lake Dam for MPE Engineering Limited.
Equipment that is expected to be used for completion of the Project will include a back-hoe, a digger boom truck with a flatbed trailer, a bucket truck, and chain-trenching equipment. Access to the Project will make use of an existing access road and the SaskPower right-of-way (ROW). Surface disturbance is expected to be minimized to the wood pole replacement and the pad-mount transformer, pad, ground grid, and underground cable installation locations. The disturbance will be limited to an approximately 0.5 m diameter hole required for the wood pole replacement, an approximately 0.5 to 1 m deep, 2 to 2.5 m wide, and 2 to 2.5 m long pit required to accommodate the pad-mount transformer and pad installation, two approximately 1.5 m deep, 1 m wide, and 1 m long pits required for the ground grid installations, and an approximately 23 centimetre (cm) wide and 130 m long trench required for the underground cable installation.
The resulting hole, pits, and trench will be immediately backfilled and compacted once the wood pole has been replaced and the ground grids, take-off, pad-mount transformer with a pad, and underground cable have been installed.
