SaskPower Cable Installation to Kapasiwin Cabins

SaskPower is proposing to install six underground primary cables in a 2520 metre (m) right-of-way (ROW) in order to provide additional power service to the Kapasiwin Bungalows. The project will include bell holes for splicing the underground cable, two ground grids, installing a pad mount transformer, and installing a cubicle vault and associated hardware. The underground cable will be trenched along a developed roadway in the park, and the project is not expected to require any new vegetation clearing. The project is required to increase the capacity and maintain the quality of service to the Kapasiwin Bungalows in the Park. Equipment that is expected to be used for completion of the Project includes: a digger-boom truck, rubber-tired back-hoe, a chain trencher, and crew trucks. Access to components of the Project will make use of existing roads, trails and SaskPower right-of-way. Surface disturbance is expected to be minimized to the trenching and pits required for bell holes and ground grid installation.
