Big River First Nation Arena Build Project

Big River First Nation Arena Build Project (the "Project") involves the construction of an arena in the Big River I.R. 118, SK. The proposed footprint of the new arena is 17,875 m2. Included in the plans for the proposed project are an ice plant to provide artificial ice, as well as the building of bleachers, dressing rooms, lobby, and inside viewing area to accommodate people with physical challenges and the Elders of the community. The proposed project is taking place on previously developed agricultural land.

September 20, 2021 –  Infrastructure Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects..
