Powwow Arbour Construction

Big Island Lake Cree Nation will construct a new powwow arbour to replace the old structure and provide a safe space, suitable for cultural ceremony and teachings.  The proposed Powwow Arbor will be 160 ft diameter, with seating capacity to accommodate approximately 1100 guests, and host 600 dancers.

August 1, 2023 – Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
