Cenovus Foster Creek - North Trunk Gate (NTG) in Cold Lake Alberta

Cenovus Energy Inc. is proposing building a new structure of 35-meters radiocommunication tower located at Foster Creek - Cold Lake AB – 14-8-71-4-W4, an undeveloped site in Cold Lake. The project will install antennas at 27-meters to  provide two radiocommunication link from the proposed tower to an existing tower. HP2-18 High Performance Parabolic Reflector Antenna; 0.6 m ; Polarization: Horizontal ; Operating Frequency Band: 17.7 - 19.7 GHz will be used. One link carries SCADA traffic and another link to carry corporate network traffic in the 17-19 GHz band. There may be periodic equipment additions or replacements, as required for any Radiocommunications service.

Notice of Intent to Make a Determination – Start of Public Comment Period

 

2024-07-26 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.  To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting public comments until 2024-08-27 respecting that determination.
