Department of National Defence Future Fighter Capability Project - Demolition of Hangars 6 and 7, and Construction of New Supporting Infrastructure

The Department of National Defence is undertaking a project to renew infrastructure in support of the Future Fighter Capability Project (FFPC), and the Defence of Canada Fighter Infrastructure (DCFI) project. The site is located within 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alberta. This phase of the project will consist of the demolition of Hangars 6 and 7, and associated infrastructure, to provide a footprint for the construction of new infrastructure. New construction will include various buildings, roads, and supporting infrastructure.

August 31, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
