OS-6826 Authorization to extend an existing surface lease area for a multi-well pad

A surface lease extension consisting of 2.1 ha area for drilling and operating a multi-well pad will be constructed and maintained for the operating life of the wells, then decommissioned and reclaimed before the lease agreement is surrendered. The proposed surface lease extension will be to the adjacent to the east/southeast of an existing multi-well pad site. Some wetland impact will occur as a result of the padsite construction. Five wetlands were noted within 100m of the proposed wellsite extension. The nearest fish-bearing is Frog Creek, located approximately 220m northwest of the proposed padsite extension.

Latest update

June 18, 2024 – Indian Oil and Gas Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indian Oil and Gas Canada is inviting public comments until July 17, 2024 respecting that determination.
