Little Pine First Nation Lagoon Upgrade and Bridge over Battle River

The project will include the construction of a new sewage lagoon , including common excavation, synthetic liner, and transfer piping.  The lagoon will be design and constructed to meet the 10 year design horizon, with practical considerations to allow for easy expansion to meet the 20 year design horizon, when appropriate.  Lagoon sizing is 3.45ha primary cell; 95,100 cubic meter storage cell.  The project will include a 200mm sewage forcemain of approximately 3,300 lin. m. in length.  Sewage pumping station upgrades include new sewage pumps, piping and a sewage grinder.  The project will include approximately 3,300 lin. m. of access road construction and bridge construction will take place in Section 31, Township 45, Range 21 W3.  Road width of 7m with gravel surface.

Lagoon construction will take place in portion of NW6 - TWP46 - Rng 21- W3M.Sewage force main will be in portion of, NW31 - 45 - 21 - W3M, NW31 - 45 - 21 - W3M, SE6 - 46 - 21 - W3M and NW6 - 46 - 21 - W3M.  All parcels were previously disturbed by farming activities.

New and permanent infrastructure will include the new sewage force main and sewage treatment lagoon. Activities include feasibility study, design, tender, construction operation and maintenance. Waste generation is expected to be minimal for this project.  Waste generation to include typical construction waste.  Waste will be collected in transportation bins and hauled to the nearest regional landfill.

Force main crossing to be completed by horizontal directional drilling under Battle River.  Fisheries permit is not required for directional drilling, and proponent confirms that all mitigation measures noted here will be followed: http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/pnw-ppe/measures-mesures-eng.html
