Astotin Lake Dock Replacement

Elk Island National Park plans to replace the current floating dock on Astotin Lake (in the Astotin Lake Day Use Area) with a new permanent structure. The current floating dock does not provide adequate stability for all users, and has to be removed from teh lake every fall. The plan is to have a contractor install 12-14 helical piles in the water in January/February, working on the lake ice. Elk Island National Park staff would install the eight foot by 40-50 foot dock on the piles in March/April.
