Alexander First Nation CU360 Drinking Water Supply Project

Alexander First Nation plans to construct a new central reservoir with a capacity of 3,553 m3, pumphouse, and transmission lines with supply from Sturgeon County and the West Inter Lake District Regional Water Supply Commission (WILDRWSC) as well as a distribution network in the townsite. The proposed reservoir will be located at the southwest corner of the intersection of RR 275 and HWY 642. The west connection line will consist of 2750m of 200 HDPE (from WILDRWSC) and the east connection will consist of 4780m of 150 HDPE from Sturgeon (community to reservoir) and 4750m of 450 HDPE (reservoir to community) in addition to connection to upwards of 71 homes. The main transmission line will run alongside HWY 642 within the right of way. Connection lines to individual homes will run along existing driveways.

End of Public Comment Period 

March 24, 2025 - The public period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
