SaskPower Pole Replacement near Halkett (Sandy) Lake

SaskPower is proposing to replace two poles of a long-span structure, each pole on either side of a bog/fen. Once replaced, guy wires and screw style anchors will be installed to support the poles. to access the project locations, SaskPower requires that the vegetation and regenerating trees/shrubs be cleared. The vegetation clearing will take place along the existing overhead power easement for a distance of approximately 2,500 metres, extending generally north and south of the structure replacement location. Equipment that is expected to be uses for completion of the project includes: a tracked digger truck, back-hoe, trenching equipment, and crew trucks. Access to components of the project will make use of existing roads, trails and the power easement. Vegetation is expected to be completed with a tracked drum mulcher and/or hydro-axe mower.
