SaskPower Transformer Salvage

SaskPower is proposing to salvage a pad mount transformer and abandon an underground cable in Prince Albert National Park. The equipment was used at a Boreal Ecological Research Monitoring Station which was discontinued in the winter of 2018. The infrastructure of the monitoring station is being removed in order to rehabilitate the site. Equipment that is expected to be used for the salvage project includes: a digger truck, back-hoe, and crew trucks. Access to the site and infrastructure will make use of existing roads and trails. Surface disturbance is expected to be minimized to the pad mount transformer salvage location.
