Optimization and modernization of the grain terminal - Parrish & Heimbecker

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) aims to strengthen its presence at the Port of Québec, a strategic location accessible year-round for grain exports. It seeks to optimize the existing grain terminal by adding two silos that were included in the original plan. This expansion will also increase storage capacity to ensure efficient operations and support export growth.

The project involves the construction of two new steel grain silos at the Québec City terminal, located behind the existing silos. Together, they will add approximately 28,600 MT of storage capacity. The work includes the installation of foundations, structures, and equipment for grain transport, ventilation, and handling. Modernizing the existing facilities will improve operational efficiency while helping to reduce current environmental impacts.

Improvements to existing structures are intended to optimize the efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance of current facilities. These include the addition of new unloading circuits with modernized conveyance systems, the installation of bypass valves and the integration of control and automation equipment. Noise reduction measures, such as installing silencers on ventilation fans, along with dust control systems, will enhance operations while limiting impacts on the environment and the surrounding community.
