Replacement of Three Culverts and Resurfacing of the Access Road to the Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site

The purpose of the project is to resurface the access road leading to the parking lot at the Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site and replace three culverts, two of which are located in the fish habitat (Ruisseau du Lavoir). These works are at the end of their useful life and must be replaced in order to maintain infrastructure compliance, ensure visitor safety and protect the environment of the national historic site.

The planned interventions include pulverization of the existing surface between des Forges Boulevard and the main parking lot of the Forges du Saint-Maurice, refilling and potentially building up the base, and repaving. The work is expected to begin around mid-May and be completed by June 10, 2020.

The project will also be assessed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
