Refurbishment of the Senkus and LaSalle Coke Crane footbridges on the Lachine Canal path

Parks Canada plans to repair the Senkus and Lasalle-Coke footbridges on the Lachine Canal. The project foresees work mainly on the structure. Among other things, it is planned to change some parts that are in poor condition, remove the current paint containing lead and repaint the structure, as well as replace the drainage system. Work is also planned on the bearings, on the deck joints and on the profile of the approaches.

The installation of a temporary platform and a containment enclosure are planned for the painting work. A cleaning of the vegetation is planned around the abutments, after the bird nesting season.

Work is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2020, partly during the navigation period, but the work will have no impact on navigation.

No work is planned below the navigation water level in the summer season
