Cultural space, multi-purpose building

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke plans to build a multi-purpose arts and cultural centre and theatre. The building will be located between the Suzanne River and the Kahnawà:ke Survival School along Highway 132. The 15,750 square foot facility will be located on three acres of land and will be designed using sustainable technologies. The Kanien'kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Centre includes an administrative area, a media production area, a resource area and classrooms and workshops. The theatre, includes public spaces, the auditorium and stage, backstage and technical space.

September 22, 2023 – Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
