Wildlife Development Area for the Wood Turtle, La Mauricie National Park.

The project involves creating a new wildlife development area for the Wood Turtle in La Mauricie National Park. Located within the species' critical habitat, this development aims to recreate nesting conditions that are further away from the road network and to help mitigate the risk of road mortality.

The work involves light, manual weeding over a surface area of approximately 20m2 and maintaining an initial substrate already suitable to nesting. The removed topsoil will be collected and set aside for future use. This work will be completed in 2020 outside the species' land activity period.
