Addition of a shelter at Solitaire Lake

A small autonomous (passive energy) shelter intended primarily for winter visitors will be built at La Mauricie National Park and will overlook one of the most stunning vistas of the Solitaire Lake Trail. The innovative and distinctive shelter will enhance visitor experiences in the area. The shelter will be built in a workshop and mounted on piles with mechanical anchors. The footprint will therefore be minimal. The shelter will have a square footage of approximately 100 square feet. It will contain a large window and be south-facing to facilitate its energy autonomy. A solar-powered auxiliary heater will also be installed.
