Construction of a new primary school in Manawan

The project involves the construction of a primary school with a capacity of 615 students. The project is located on a wooded site of approximately 16,700 square meters, including 2026 square meters of wetlands.

The site will house a new building that will be serviced with a private water, sanitary and storm sewer connection, a bus landing, parking, playgrounds (e.g. play modules, basketball, etc.) and outdoor amenities (e.g. urban furniture, etc.).

The following activities will be carried out: Site preparation (deforestation, excavation and backfilling, etc.), building construction and outdoor amenities (landing, parking lot, playgrounds, etc.).

2021-12-02 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Construction of a new primary school in Manawan is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
