New additive tank for liquid bitumen

Suncor Energy Products Partnership wishes to install at its Montreal-East Terminal, located at sections 95-97 of the Port of Montreal, an additive injection system when loading liquid bitumen in tank trucks. The new facilities include a 60,000 liter storage tank with an integrated secondary containment compartment, injection and unloading pumps, flow meters and control panels.


Latest update

November 19th, 2020 – The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) has determined that the proposed project New additive tank for liquid bitumen is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

 

  • Water, soil and air pollution prevention
  • Noise pollution prevention
     

Therefore, the MPA may perform any duty or function to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
