Phase 2 New Refugee Asylum Trailer

The Scope of work includes the supply and installation of a new permanent 24'x60' trailer located on grade behind the existing Immigration trailer. The final location is to be determined. Environmental and Civil works are required to ensure proper grading, drainage and environmental mitigation methods. Space requirements for new trailer to include: 2-3 CBSA Officer terminals, small waiting area for asylum clients, 1-2 interview rooms, and to include 2 washrooms (1 public 1 client). Open office area for approximately 8 staff, 1 mgmt. office. Options for layout to be provided as part of design. The trailer will require water to accommodate a washroom. Water and electrical are located directly outside proposed location. HVAC and lighting will be included in the project as this trailer will be occupied as office space. FLS requirements TBD by the consultant. At least 2 accessible doors for entrance and egress, as well as a breezeway to connect to the other 2 existing trailers on site will be required. The design is to include security system cameras as well as security back-end system to meet CBSA security requirements. A new parking lot northeast of new trailer will be included in the design for 10 to 15 parking stalls with entrance off of the existing roadway north of the trailers. The parking lot requires appropriate sloping, drainage and accessibility. Additional site lighting and signage will also be required to accommodate new parking layout and address traffic flow, fire routes and accessibility. New/rework of existing sidewalks will be included for egress around the current trailers and access to the existing parking lot on the east side of the property. All construction work to be staged to ensure that there is no disruption to current site operations Intent is to deliver Plans and Specs in 2022-2023 with project implementation in 2023-2024.
