Long Point (Amherst Island) Crib Repairs

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours is planning to demolish a portion of the deteriorated timber cribwork and make necessary safety repairs to the existing structure located at Long Point (Amherst Island) Small Craft Harbour. This project includes the following: 

  • Removal and disposal off-site of the collapsed sections of timber crib and any loose timbers associated
  • Nailing/bracing down any other crib members near the removal line of the work
  • Reinstatement of existing barricade

No heavy equipment is to be used on the timber crib or adjacent property, work is to be completed using hand-held equipment and tools. 


Latest update

October 12, 2021 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada Small Craft Harbours has issued it's Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
