Installation of New Maintenance Shed- Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Kingston Yacht Club

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to install a new maintenance shed to replace the outdated existing sheds at CFB Kingston Yacht Club. The Committee retained the option of a modified 40' sea container, fitted with three sliding garage doors and divided into four sections which will store differently categorized items in each of the sections. The sea container will be placed on a new poured concrete pad, with reinforcement and a sub base.

In addition, the better conditioned shed of the two, will be moved to the berm near A-Dock and used as storage. There will also be a 20' short term rental sea container brought to site so material can be temporarily stored, until the larger sea container storage is complete. The primary environmental mitigations will include spill kits and silt curtains, due to the nature of construction and proximity to water.
