Royal Military College Museum - Design Phase

The proposed Royal Military College (RMC) Museum Project in Kingston is intended to construct a new building in order to display objects of cultural significance and make these resources available to the public through exhibitions, programming and research. The proposed new facility will have and approximate interior space of 1,920 m2, and an approximate site development area of 9,300 m2. The proposed facility may include exhibition areas, seminar and multi-purpose rooms, office spaces, a gift shop, kitchen, washrooms, storage, and maintenance rooms. This abbreviated environmental effects determination (AEED) encompasses the physical work that may be undertaken during the development and design phase of the project. This AEED does not include the environmental effects of the construction phase of work, which shall be addressed in a separate document. The design phase of work may include topographical surveys, geotechnical drilling investigations, soil and groundwater quality assessments, archaeological assessments, and field surveys for species at risk assessments.

March  2, 2022— The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
