Bank Street Bridge Repairs, City of Ottawa

This project involves limited concrete repairs on the Bank Street bridge near Lansdowne Park in the City of Ottawa. The project is slated to be completed in spring-summer of 2020. The proposed work is intended to repair unsound concrete on the bridge deck, sidewalks and approaches as well as re-surfacing with asphalt. The scope will also include repairs to the underside of one of the two arches that spans the Rideau Canal National Historic Site. Work on the underside of the arch will likely be undertaken from a barge with a telescopic man-lift and will consist of removal of unsound concrete, installation of dowels, and hand application of a proprietary repair mortar. The navigation channel passes under the adjacent arch and repairs to this section will be the focus of a future project. The repair aesthetic will be compatible with the heritage structure. The project will also be reviewed by Transport Canada and the National Capital Commission.
