County of Renfrew Trail - Garrison Petawawa By-Pass

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which involves the construction of a multi-use recreational trail, which will provide a route connecting the abandoned rail bed intersecting Paquette Road in Petawawa. The trail will mainly be constructed over the existing snowmobile trail. It will head west from the rail bed for 1400m and then proceed north, along the westerly edge of the Trans Canada pipeline right of way between Paquette Road and Highway 17 for a distance of 15km. A new highway crossing will be constructed and the trail will re-connect with the abandoned rail bed. The finished travel surface will be approximately 4m wide and consist of M-Gravel.
