The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence proposes to construct a new building at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa (Garrison Petawawa). The building will support the maintenance and storage requirements of the modernized fleet of logistics vehicles, enhanced recovery vehicles and common heavy construction equipment stationed at the Garrison. The proposed Project is planned for Garrison Petawawa, located 170 km northwest of the City of Ottawa, Ontario. The Project site comprises approximately 22 ha of land situated along the south side of Warrior Drive, northwest of Building Y-116 (the Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle Facility) and southeast of an Equipment Divestment Compound.

August 18, 2020 - The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
