Demolition of aged Royal Canadian Dragoon facilities at Garrison Petawawa

There are total of 11 existing aged buildings on federal property, Garrison Petawawa, Ontario, that have been identified to be demolished.

 

Buildings C-039 (2,084m2), C-040 (2,210m2) and C-103 (2,080m2) will be demolished down to the concrete slab. The slab and foundations will remain below grade. Existing concrete pavement will be used for a parking lot.

 

Buildings B-101 (383m2), B-102 (708m2), B-104 (1,410m2) and G-022 (131m2) will be completely demolished including all basements and foundations. Most of these building contain designated substances which will be removed and disposed of with certified workers.

 

There are four additional shed type buildings B-025 (12m2), C-041(36m2),C-048 (36m2),C-049 (40m2) are to also be fully demolished.

May 27, 2020 – The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
