Collins Bay Institution – Fuel Storage Tank Replacements (4)

Correctional Service Canada requires the replacement of four (4) fuel storage tanks at the Collins Bay Institution site. The four tanks are all greater than 20 years old and deteriorating. The existing tanks on-site are all concrete encased petroleum fuel storage tanks. The project will entail decommissioning and removal of the existing tanks, design of tanks and product transfer areas, and installation of new tank systems.

Latest update

May 07, 2026 – The Correctional Service Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the Correctional Service Canada is inviting public comments until June 08, 2026 respecting that determination.
