Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Waste Management Area Modification Project

In support of ongoing operations at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), the modification of a Waste Management Area is being proposed at the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited's Chalk River Laboratories site. The proposed modification will permit additional storage of low level radioactive wastes, on approximately 4.2 ha of previously disturbed land.  The physical activities associated with this project include the construction of an engineered gravel pad, upgrading road access and upgrading the existing security fence to act as permenant wildlife exclusion fencing.  All physical activities will be conducted in accordance with CNL's Environmental Policy and applicable legislation.
