Reorganisation of the Grosse Île Harbour, Magdalen Islands

The harbour redevelopment project proposes to relocate a section of Breakwater 301 to allow for the installation of a portion of the existing and new floating pontoons, which will help relieve congestion in the fishing harbour. In addition to this work, wooden cribs (fixed docks 1 and 2) will be built to geometrically optimize the junction between the relocated breakwater, the boat launch and the existing wharf. Thus, the two existing lines of floating pontoons will be removed and the most recent one, which has a lever arm anchoring system, will be relocated to the new breakwater. Finally, dredging will be carried out for the installation of timber cribs, under the new floating pontoons and in the enlargement of the inner basin to allow for the safe mooring of surplus vessels using the floating pontoons.
