Mink River SCH Wharf Reconstruction

Structures 401, 402, 404 and 406 at Mink River Small Craft Harbour make up the main wharf structure. Wharf structures 401 and 402 are timber piles with wooden decking. Wharf structures 404 and 406 are a combination of timber pile, fully ballasted closed face timber cribs with rock fill, a timber sheathing face and asphalt and gravel decking. All structures have deteriorated significantly and are now in need of replacement in order to prolong the life and maintain the safety of the facility. DFO-SCH is proposing to encapsulate the existing structure with a new Berlin Wall structure while removing some soils and rock fill to facilitate construction.
