Marshdale Natural Gas Power Generation Facility Project

IESO Nova Scotia, the province's Independent Energy System Operator, is proposing to construct, operate and decommission a new natural gas power generation facility in Marshdale, Nova Scotia. As proposed, the project would use simple-cycle combustion turbines with a combined capacity to generate up to 300 megawatts. The project would operate as needed to maintain a reliable electricity system whenever a renewable energy source is not meeting the demand. This project is expected to operate for a minimum of 30 years.
