2022 BioVectra Biopharmaceutical Expansion

The proposed 2022 BioVectra Biopharmaceutical Expansion will be comprised of a two-storey site-built addition for biomanufacturing. It will be situated at 11 Aviation Avenue which is located within the Charlottetown Airport Industrial under the authorization of the Charlottetown Airport Authority. The location of the proposed expansion project will be attached to the current BioVectra Building 1 Facility.

The expansion footprint is proposed in the area of the existing parking area on southeast side of the existing facility. Due to the new building footprint being into the existing parking area, a 1938 m2 (20862 sq ft) expansion of the parking lot on the southwest portion of the site will be constructed as part of the proposed project. The building and parking lot expansion are in previously developed areas (i.e., existing parking lot and grassed/gravel/shale laydown area from past construction) with no woodland or sensitive ecological habitat (i.e., wetlands) being impacted.

During the construction phase, stormwater runoff and sediment control measures will be provided by the site contractor and reviewed by the Construction Project Manager on a regular basis. This will include installing silt fencing, straw bales and other measures as required. During construction and operation (including accidents, potential malfunctions and unplanned events) all municipal, provincial and federal codes, standards and best management practices will be followed.
