Redevelopment of parking areas, Pointe-de-Est National Wildlife Area

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) wishes to reorganize the parking lots and reception areas of the Échouerie and the Camarine, in order to improve the visitor experience. Indeed, they face certain problems in terms of cramped space making parking maneuvers difficult, especially since the parking limits are irregular and poorly defined.

The new facilities will include the following:

Camarine sector:

• Expansion of the parking lot in a wetland;
• A wooden reception terrace with a view of the bog;
• An information panel with trail map and regulations;
• Installation of ridges;
• A compost toilet with aeration chimney (later phase).

Échouerie sector:

• Expansion of the parking area (very close to a wetland);
• A wooden reception terrace with a view of the bog;
• An information panel with trail map and regulations;
• Installation of ridges;
• A compost toilet with aeration chimney (later phase).
