Clyburn Wetland Habitat Creation

Clyburn Wetland Habitat Creation is a compensation project designed to offset wetland impacts resulting from the Keltic Road Realignment Project. Located at the former Parks Canada stockpile storage area, the project will establish 2,000 m² of newly created wetland, connected to an existing 1,000 m² human-derived wetland, for a total of 3,000 m². This meets the required 3:1 replacement ratio for wetlands that were permanently altered during the Keltic Road Realignment Project construction. As the site would not naturally support wetland conditions, a clay liner will be installed and filled with wetland soils salvaged from the impacted Keltic areas. The project supports long-term habitat development, improves ecological function, and fulfills regulatory compensation requirements.
