Halfway Brook Bridge Replacement

This project is for the replacement of the existing Halfway Brook Bridge located along the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, N.S. Project components include highway realignment to accommodate new approaches, roadway diversion and expansion of the parking area for the Coastal Trail trailhead, as well as likely relocation of utility poles and lines away from the new alignment. The footprint is predicted to increase from 18,000m2 to 22,000m2. Bridge construction includes pile driving, excavation, and concrete and asphalt placement. The design also requires tree clearing for geotechnical work (completed under a separate PRIA) as well as for the road realignment, roadway diversion and parking expansion.
