Fuel Storage Tank Replacement - Cabot Building

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Real Property, Safety and Security (DFO-RPSS) intends to remove and replace the existing 22,960L above ground furnace oil fuel storage tank for the Cabot Building at the Canadian Coast Guard College in Westmount, Queens County, NS.  The existing tank was damaged as a result of Hurricane Fiona and will be removed and disposed of.  A new tank will be purchased and installed on the existing containment pad in the existing location.  The new tank will also have a capacity of 22,960L.  There are no intended earthworks associated with this project. Work is proposed for early 2023.

Notice of Determination

March 7, 2023 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Real Property, Safety and Security Department has issued its Notice of Determination after evaluation of the project Fuel Storage Tank Replacement - Cabot Building and has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects with mitigation measures as outlined in their evaluation and can therefore proceed.
