North Arrowhead Breakwater Repair, Dingwall Harbour Small Craft Harbour, Victoria County, NS

The Small Craft Harbours Branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada proposes to undertake a breakwater repair project at Dingwall Harbour, located in Dingwall in Victoria County, Nova Scotia. Damage has occurred to the north arrowhead breakwater located at the entrance channel to Dingwall Small Craft Harbour as a result of apparent beach erosion. The beach on the north side of the breakwater appears to be receding westward leaving the north breakwater open to a potential breach at the inner end. The proposed project will involve adding additional armour stone to the north end of the north arrowhead breakwater as well as extending the shore protection northwest of the existing structure to prevent further erosion and potential structure breach. The crest height of the proposed work will be constructed to +4.5 m while the total length of the repair/extension is approximately 75 m.
