McDonald's at Buffalo Run

McDonald's is proposing to construct a restaurant on Tsuut'ina Nation. The proposed project will be located at Buffalo Run, across the road from the Tim Hortons, on a pre‑graded site. The project includes the construction of a 376 m² single‑story restaurant with a drive‑through and a 20‑stall parking lot.

Project activities include excavating footings and the foundation for the slab‑on‑grade building, backfilling any excavations, and completing hardscape and softscape finishes. No clearing will be required, as the lot was already cleared and serviced during the Taza Development Project.

The project is not located near any waterbodies and is not expected to impact migratory birds or species at risk.

End of Public Comment Period

April 12, 2026 - The public period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
