Sanitary sewer servicing for Bigham Crossing

The Harmony Advanced Water Systems Corporation (HAWSCO) is proposing to provide sanitary sewer servicing (the Project) to the Bingham Crossing Development, which is in the heart of Springbank, west of Calgary, Alberta. The project is on lands owned by the Springbank Airport and is therefore subject to a review under Section 82 of the Impact Assessment Act for projects on federal lands. The Calgary Airport Authority is the lead federal authority, with HAWSCO named as the project proponent.

The proposed alignment will cross the federal lands operated by the Springbank Airport (YBW) in a north-south direction from Township Road 250, along Anson Road, to the future East Harmony Trail Road. The proposed alignment will then continue within the future East Harmony Trail Road allowance until reaching the tie-in point of the existing sanitary sewer line near the HAWSCO Wastewater Treatment Plant. As such, installation of the sanitary sewer system within the airport jurisdiction will involve open trench/trench boxing excavation and installation of approximately 2,100m of 450mm PVC SDR35 pipe, placed at depths ranging from 5 metres to 9 metres deep. Construction is anticipated to occur from May 2023 to July 2023.
