Great Divide Lodge is proposing to demolish a former service station and remediate contaminated soils. Work will involve the removal of a service station building, pump islands, aboveground and buried fuel tanks, excavation and disposal of contaminated soils. Currently obstructed groundwater monitoring wells will be decommissioned, and new monitoring wells installed at the site. Removal of buildings and aboveground fuel tanks may be covered under a Pre-Approved Impact Assessment (PRIA) however the removal of buried fuel tanks and infrastructure and remediation of contaminated soils will be assessed under a Basic Impact Assessment. Remediation work is planned for summer/ fall 2025.
