ATCO Banff Transmission Line Repair Project

ATCO is planning to remove and replace approximately 120m of the existing 219mm high pressure natural gas Banff Transmission line. Defects within the Banff Transmission line were identified during an in-line inspection and will be removed and replaced to ensure the safe service of the Banff Transmission line. A portion of this proposed line replacement will occur on the western edge of Stoney Indian Reserves #142, #143, #144. The proposed project will have impacts on one wetland area.

Latest update

April 30, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
